Victor L. Brant

brant-obit-colorServices for Victor Brant, 96, of St. Clair, MO, were at 11 a.m., Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Charles Idleman officiating. Burial followed in Cave Spring Cemetery, rural Sullivan.

Visitation was from 9-11 a.m. Thursday, at the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan.

Victor Leroy was born November 25, 1924 near Spring Bluff, MO, the son of William and Jennie (Holderieth) Brant. He grew up and attended school in Spring Bluff before heading off to St. Louis as a young man. Victor met the love of his life there, Betty Jane Roster. They were united in marriage at Forest Park on August 3, 1950. To this union five children were born: Roger, Linda, Ron, Dan, and Mark. After brief time in St. Louis, they moved the family to St. Clair where they raised their family. Victor spent most of his working life driving commercial truck. He then spent many years driving bus locally. A highlight for him was hauling the East Central College baseball team to Florida for spring training each spring for many years. In recent years, Victor and Betty enjoyed going to Blue Grass music festivals. Most of all he loved time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Victor was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church in Sullivan and a member of the American Historical Trucking Society.

Victor passed away Monday, October 31, 2016 at the Crab Apple Village in St. Clair.

He is survived by his wife, Betty, four sons; Roger Brant (and wife, Rosemary) of Cuba, Ron Brant (and wife, Kay) of Greenbrier, Tennessee, Dan Brant (and wife, Jeannena) of St. Clair, Mark Brant (and wife, Donna) of St. Clair; one daughter; Linda Thurman of St. Clair; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael; and a sister, Thelma Sedlack.

Memorials contributions may be made to the New Testament Baptist Church of Sullivan.

All arrangements are under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, MO.
