Richard Leroy Daugherty, of Bourbon, MO, was born on Sunday, November 4, 1945 in Washington, MO, to Patrick Edward Daugherty and Elsie May Littrell Daugherty. He passed away on Friday, November 11, 2016 at the age of 71 years and 7 days.
Richard married Mary Ann Blaser on September 12, 1964 in Union, MO and to this union three children were born. Richard was self-employed and owned his own trucking business transporting mostly dry goods. His hobbies were hunting, riding motorcycles and car racing. He was an honest, dependable, husband, father and grandfather who loved his family very much. He led his wife to the Lord many years ago and most recently was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Bourbon, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Mary Lou Daugherty.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ann Daugherty of Bourbon, MO; children Virginia (P.J.) Beckermann, Ronda (friend Jimmy Mitchell) Saunchgrow of Owensville, MO and James Leroy (Cyndi) Daugherty of Bourbon, MO; brothers Clifford (Pattie Atkins) Daugherty, Kenneth (Jackie) Daugherty, Carl (Sue) Daugherty and Gary Lee Daugherty all of Bourbon, MO, 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Visitation was Sunday, November 13, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, MO. Funeral Service was 11 a.m. on November 14, 2016 at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, MO with Pastor Ed Carter officiating. Burial at Hill Cemetery, Bourbon, MO.
Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
