Beatrice “Bea” Mildred Schweer, 97, of Owensville passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Gasconade Manor Nursing Home in Owensville.
Beatrice was born in Sullivan, MO on December 1, 1919 a daughter of the late August and Josephine (Kleager) Ruwwe. She was united in marriage to George Dewey Schweer on August 23, 1939. She was a former member of New Friendship Baptist Church in Gerald and now a member of the First Baptist Church of Owensville. She taught in public schools for 37 years and was a member of the retired teacher’s association, a member of Alpha Theta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International, and a member of the Owensville Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Josephine and August Ruwwe; her husband, Dewey Schweer; one brother, Herbert Ruwwe; and one sister, Velma Law.
Her survivors include her daughter, Patsy Nelson and husband Robert “Bob” of Owensville; two grandchildren, Brian Nelson and wife Becky of Owensville and Bobbi Limberg and husband Jeff of Owensville; five great-grandchildren, Brett Nelson and special friend Charli Walton of Owensville, Bailey Nelson of Owensville, Brookelyn Limberg of Owensville, Tyler Limberg and fiancée Samantha Hafner of Owensville, and Tiffany Limberg Basham and husband Cody of Owensville; and two great-great-grandchildren, Paislee Basham and Chestyn Basham.
Funeral services was held Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville with Rev. Kevin Sullivan officiating. Visitation was held Tuesday, January 24 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home. Burial will be at New Friendship Baptist Cemetery in Gerald.
