Bill Elsperman obit colorBill Elsperman of Sullivan, MO, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2016 at the age of 61 years.

Bill was born on March 18, 1955 in Sullivan, MO to Loretta (McGowan) Elsperman and the late Eugene Elsperman. He was a life-long resident of the Sullivan area and was a graduate of Sullivan High School, Class of 1973. He was employed several years as a Laster at the former Mid-Shoe Company in Sullivan. Bill later joined the Carpenters Union and worked in the Residential Construction Trade. Later in life Bill worked in the logging industry in and around the Sullivan area. He loved the outdoors and was an accomplished coyote and deer hunter. Bill also was fond of fishing and enjoyed cooking. He was known as a generous man and friend to all he met and had a kind heart to all. He was raised in the Catholic Faith and in his younger years served as an Altar Boy at Holy Martyrs of Japan Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife Cathy of the family home; one son, Andrew Elsperman and fiancée Kayla Spurgeon of Sullivan; two daughters, Stephanie Kesstler and husband Jeff of Sullivan, and Jessica Elsperman and partner Lindsey Woodard of St. Louis, MO; his mother, Loretta Elsperman of Sullivan; one sister, Debbie Hayes and husband Richard of Sullivan; four grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Joyce Elsperman of Sullivan; nephew, Amon Hayes, other relatives and many friends.

Along with his father, Bill was preceded in death by brother, Robert Elsperman.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 22, 2016 from the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with the Rev. Father John Patrick Day, C.P., officiating. Interment was in Crow Cemetery, Sullivan, MO. Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m., Monday evening and on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan. 

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to American Lung Association or family’s choice.
