Sanford Lee Turner

Sanford Lee Turner, of Cuba, MO, was born on Saturday, April 1, 1944 in St. Louis, MO, to Daniel Douglas Turner and Rosie Myrtle Jimmerson Turner. He passed away at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO on Friday, February 3, 2017 at the age of 72 years, 10 months, and 2 days.

Sanford married Sharon Phillips in March, 1965 in St. Louis, MO, and to this union two children were born. He was a truck driver for many years and retired in April, 2009 from ProDrivers Trucking Company in Oklahoma City, OK. He moved back to Cuba, MO, in January, 2011 and enjoyed his grandchildren and woodworking. He also, liked to watch wrestling on television every Tuesday night.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Jearl Turner and brother-in­ law Leroy Mooring.

He is survived by his daughter Tammy (Mike) Zuzack of Bourbon, MO and son Tim Turner of Eureka, MO; sisters Janet Mooring of Hillsboro, MO and June (Tom) Smith of Mount Shennan, KY and brother Gene (Loraine) Turner of Granite City, IL; sister-in-law Myra Turner of Crystal City, MO; grandchildren  Kathryn Zuzack and Mike Zuzac Jr. of Bourbon, MO; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation was held from 3-5 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, MO. Funeral Service was held at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, MO with Pastor Ed Carter officiating.
