Lori Hampton PhotoLori Lee Hampton, 59, of Linn Creek, MO, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, MO.

Lori Lee was born in St. Louis, MO on October 30, 1957 to William and Audrey Happel.  She was the youngest of four children.  Lori and her family moved to Stanton, MO in 1962. She attended Stanton School, Sullivan Middle School and Sullivan High School. Growing up, Lori enjoyed animals and was a happy child.

Lori was united in marriage to Steve in 1988. Prior to getting married, Lori moved to California where Steve was stationed at Mather Air Force Base. When Lori and Steve married, she welcomed Nick and Dan into her life and loved them as her own. A short time later, they all welcomed a baby girl into their family; Brittany. Lori was such a proud mother to her three children. While living in California, Lori and Steve owned a trophy business where they spent much of their time. In their free time, they enjoyed riding their horses and spending time together as a family.

Lori and Steve relocated to Shawnee, OK in 1993.  Steve had the opportunity to move the family closer to Missouri where their extended family was, which was important to them. Lori spent her time caring for the family as a homemaker and she was a great one at that.

In 2013, Lori and Steve moved to Linn Creek (Lake of the Ozarks), MO when Steve retired from the United States Air Force. Since that time, they’ve enjoyed being closer to family and living the lake life.

To know Lori, was to love her. Lori’s kind, gentle, caring, loving, friendly and nurturing demeanor along with her strong faith in God will be what she’s remembered for. While our hearts are heavy here in this world, we know Lori was welcomed into God’s Kingdom on Palm Sunday. May she rest in peace.

Lori is survived by her husband; Steven Hampton, two sons; Nicholas G. Hampton (Amber) of Choctaw, OK and Daniel W. Hampton of Los Angeles, CA, one daughter; Brittany L. Davis-Bray (Broderick) of Tucson, AZ, her mother; Audrey Happel of St. Louis, MO, two sisters; Cheryl Douglas of Sullivan, MO and Shelley Fike of St. Louis, MO, four grandchildren; Brendan and Wyatt Hampton and Malex and Colbie Davis-Bray, as well as many other relatives and friends.

Lori is preceded in death by her father; William Happel Sr. and her brother; William Happel Jr.

Memorials to the American Cancer Society are appreciated.
