sandy ardSandra “Sandy” Kaye Ard, 40, of Bourbon, formerly of Sullivan, passed away late Friday, July 22, 2016.

She was born December 26, 1975 in Town & Country, MO, the daughter of Chester and Sharon (Inglish) Ard.

For the most part, Sandy grew up and attended school in Sullivan, graduating from Sullivan High in 1994. That same year, her life was forever changed when she welcomed her precious son, Shawn into the world. Shawn was born with Cerebral Palsy and Sandy devoted the rest of her life to advocating for not only him but others with special needs. In 2005, her beautiful daughter, Anastacia was born. Though Sandy was employed at various places in Sullivan, her passion was caregiving to others.  She was involved with Home Health Care the past twelve years.  Sandy and Jason met in 2010 and their relationship grew into a wonderful romance.  They had plans to be married and to even purchase a home.  Together they enjoyed date nights, watching movies, and do-it-yourself projects.

Sandy loved trees and plants, animals, and reading. Most of all, she will be remembered as a caregiver to all and putting others before herself.  She will be missed by many family and friends.

She is survived by the love of her life, Jason Barton; a beloved son, Shawn Ard and daughter, Anastacia Abling both of Bourbon; her parents, Chester Ard and his wife Victoria of McKenzie, TN and Sharon Inglish of Stover, MO; three sisters:  Shari Chapman and husband Dan of Gray Summit, MO, Kelly Ford and husband David of Fenton, MO and Bethany Gray of Florida; four nephews: Justin Ard and wife Danielle of Union, MO, Nicholas Chapman of Gray Summit, MO and James and Wolfe Gray of Florida; and four nieces: Amanda and Kirsten Chapman both of Gray Summit, MO and Rosemary and Kaitlyn Ford, both of Rolla, MO.

Sandy is preceded in death by her grandparents.

Services were conducted at 12 p.m. noon on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.  Per Sandy’s wishes, cremation will take place following the service.

Visitation was held from 10 a.m.-12 noon on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.

Remembrances and condolences may be shared with the family online at www.eatonfuneralhome.com.
