Denver Lawrence, of Sullivan, MO, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the age of 78 years.
Denver Ervin was born on November 8, 1937 to the late Ervin and Ruth (Merten) Lawrence at Labadie, MO. He lived the majority of his life with his grandmother in Sullivan. He honorably served his country in the United States Army Air Corps from January 26, 1961 to January 25, 1963. He was employed for most of his working years, first by McDonald Douglas Aircraft and later for Boeing. His last employment was for Emerson Electric where he worked on Army Personal Carriers and later retired from there. Denver enjoyed fishing and especially fox hunting. His hounds won State Championships and “Blitz and Rebel” were his favorite dogs. He was a Life-time member of the V.F. W. Russell Schmidt Post of Sullivan and attended the Assembly of God Church in Bourbon, MO.
He is survived by one son, Tony Lawrence of Bourbon, MO; four daughters, Jody Lawrence of Sullivan, Leslie Wells and husband Roger of St. Clair, MO, Tracey Beckett and husband Tim of Bourbon, MO and Amy Martin of Bourbon; two brothers, Paul Lawrence and wife Jeanette of Sullivan, Jim Lawrence and wife Betty of Union and a half-brother, Jerry Hagard of Berger, MO; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, Denver was preceded in death by a sister; Laura Mae Jones.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2016 from the Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with interment in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan.
