Matthew F. McWilliams of Bourbon, Missouri passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the age of 64 years.
Matthew was born on Jan. 6, 1952 to the late Ralph and Thelma Worley McWilliams in Kirkwood, Missouri. He grew up in Eureka and graduated from Eureka High School. He was very close to his grandparents, Hugh and Marie McWilliams, living with them on the farm and commuting to school. Matt earned a Bachelor’s Degree from St. Louis University and was self-employed as a Horse Trainer for over 30 years. He loved animals, especially horses, hunting and fishing. Matt participated in many Bass Master’s Tournaments.
He is survived by his daughter, Bridget Garner and husband Derick of Athens, Georgia, two grandchildren; Emma and Vivien Garner, two brothers; Lyle McWilliams and wife Judy of Peculiar, Missouri, Hugh McWilliams and wife Victoria of Leland, North Carolina, uncle and aunt; Keith and Marjorie McWilliams of Ballwin, Missouri, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Mr. McWilliams was preceded in death by his parents; Ralph and Thelma McWilliams and grand-parents; Hugh and Marie McWilliams.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the Eaton Southside Chapel, Sullivan, Missouri.
