Gary W. Funkhouser, Sr., age 74 of Bourbon, MO, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2016 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Visitation for Gary was from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with cremation to follow.
Gary Wayne Sr. was born on June 5, 1942 to the late George and Edith (Dudley) Funkhouser in St. Louis, MO. He honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1960 to 1962. He was united in marriage to Jackie Neff in 1974. Mr. Funkhouser was employed in appliance repair business for many years. He then drove a school bus for Bourbon and made many lasting friendships with the children he took to and from school. Gary had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh and joke. He loved his family and spending time with them. He also enjoyed hunting. He will be missed by his family and many friends.
Mr. Funkhouser is survived by his wife Jackie Funkhouser of Bourbon, four children; Gary Funkhouser Jr. and fiancé Rebecca of Union, MO, Gerry Funkhouser and wife Sarah of Sullivan, Lisa Wall of Sullivan, Greg Funkhouser of Bourbon; two sisters; Gerry and Jackie, 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; George and Edith Funkhouser.
All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, MO.
